Logista, one of the largest logistics operators in Europe, has distributed more than 8.5 million vaccines during the six weeks of the vaccination campaign in the various Autonomous Communities. Logista has had to deal with a number of challenges to guarantee the correct supply, for which it relies on the collaboration of different businesses within the company itself.

In the transport of vaccines, it is critical to maintain a controlled temperature throughout the logistics process, ensuring the cold chain is unbroken from origin to destination. For this purpose, Logista Pharma enjoys the collaboration of Logista Parcel which, through its ‘Frío Farma’ service, transports thermolabile products that require thermal control between +2˚C and +8˚C, such as vaccines and insulins, and of NACEX through its NACEXpharma service, for urgent shipments involving strict temperature control by means of reusable isothermal packaging.
Another key aspect is compliance with the most stringent security regulations, including TAPA (Transported Asset Protection Association), GDP (Good Distribution Practice), and IFS (International Featured Standards). Logista ensures compliance above and beyond the standards required by these certifications. In the case of Logista Freight, the scale of the value of vaccine transport is between 20 and 30 million euros. In 2023, 80% of vaccine transports were made beyond our borders, 48% were exports and more than 20% were imports, both to countries such as Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy and Poland, mainly. The remaining of the vaccine transports were between European countries, such as Germany-Italy, France-Belgium, Italy-France, Switzerland-Slovenia, among others.
