NACEX, due to the implication of its franchise offices, clients, and employees, has transported over 89,000 kg of plastic tops for the ASDENT Association. By means of these tops, medical research into the rare Dent’s disease is being supported.
NACEX, Logista’s express parcel and documentation delivery company, marks 3 years of support and commitment to medical research via their collaboration with ASDENT.
By means of the implication of its franchise offices, clients, and employees, the courier company has been collaborating with ASDENT since 2018, an alliance that to this day remains active. The objective is to make the collection of plastic tops possible on a national level, in order to support medical research into the rare Dent’s disease.
Since the launch of the “Donate a top, a very charitable gesture” charity campaign, the NACEX franchise offices, over 280 in Spain, have become collection points for tops, making it possible for any of the company’s clients, or citizens, to collaborate by making a contribution.
So far, NACEX has collected and transported 89 tonnes of plastic tops to its hub in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, where a recycling company picks them up and purchases them by weight. The funds raised are given to the “Vall d’Hebron Instituto de Investigación” (VHIR) in Barcelona and the “Hospital Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria” in Tenerife, in order to continue research into this disease.
This charity initiative provides a two-fold benefit, because it promotes recycling, permitting the recovery of a significant amount of plastic, one of the most problematic waste products in terms of causing contamination. Via its involvement with ASDENT, NACEX bolsters its commitment to charity and sustainability.
The NACEX “Donate a top, a very charitable gesture” campaign received an award at the VII Social Enterprise Awards Ceremony, as the “Best CSR project by a courier company”, and the “Best responsibility project in support of medical research in the courier sector”, in 2018. In the same year, the ASDENT Association also benefitted from the NACEX Golf and Paddle Tennis Challenge.
The alliance between NACEX cand ASDENT falls within the company’s commitment to society and its most vulnerable groups. As part of its CSR strategy, NACEX has been supporting other organisations linked to medical research for years, such as the Josep Carreras Foundation, the Ronald McDonald Foundation and FEDER, to name but a few.
